Caryophyllene ( Beta caryophyllene ), is a natural bicyclic sesquiterpene that is a constituent of many essential oils, especially clove oil, the oil from the stems and flowers of Syzygium aromaticum (cloves).

Beta-carophyllene has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which acts on CB2 Receptor Agonist and reduces paclitaxel-induced neuropathic pain and diabetic neuropathic pain.

Beta- caryophyllene, at higher concentrations are commercially available as oil / Liquid forms and there are challenges of using it in nutraceutical oral formulations.
